Format & Eligibility

This event is open to all bowlers in the North Queensland area, including bowlers from Cairns, Atherton, Townsville, Mt Isa, Burdekin and Mackay.

Tournament rules

1. Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited rules and regulations will govern this tournament.
2. Eligibility: this tournament is open to all 2026 TBA registered players from North Queensland.
3. Bowlers wishing to contest junior divisions must not have attained the age of 18 before 1 January 2026.
4. Entering averages: the green average as displayed in the Tenpin Results portal. Any discrepancies will be handled by the tournament team.
5. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to re-grade any bowler.
6. Dress code: all bowlers are required to wear neat, suitable attire at all times. Collared bowling shirts, trousers, tailored shorts or skirts are preferred. Torn or dirty clothing, singlets, leggings, bike shorts, denim or T shirts are not permitted. This rule will be strictly enforced.
7. A bowler's first 9 game appearance will count toward his or her All Events score in the division that their Singles scores are entered in.
8. A bowler must have completed and paid for an All Events entry in order to qualify for a Masters final.
9. Doubles entries: team members will need to specify their Doubles partner prior to the start of competition.
10. Gradings: 5 divisions, which reflect a fair grouping of averages, are shown in the grade bands table on page 4. Based on averages submitted, entries will be graded in the appropriate division. A bowler may, however, nominate to compete in a division above their own classification.
11. Entering average will determine All Events classification, unless application is received to upgrade a bowler's All Events entry.

Grade Bands & Rules

12. Substitutes and changes in lineup must be given to Tournament Control at least one hour prior to the scheduled time to bowl. Replacements for injury or illness during the competition will be at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
13. All entrants must check in at Tournament Control at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the squad. Squads may commence earlier than advertised if lanes are conditioned and all bowlers are present.
14. In the case of a tie for first place, co-champions will be declared.
15. No team or individual shall be entitled to a refund after receipt of entry unless a medical certificate is supplied.
16. All averages will be verified before prizes are awarded.
17. Practice of no more than 10 minutes will be permitted on the starting pair of lanes prior to the commencement of the first game.
18. Full entry fees must accompany all entries. Incomplete or incorrect entries will not be accepted.
19. Failure to disclose correct averages may result in disqualification.
20. No smoking is permitted for the duration of the squad.
21. Mobile phones must be switched off whilst bowling.
22. Unsporting conduct will not be tolerated.
23. Entries will close 20 November 2026 for squad scheduling. Late entries may be accepted subject to those entries being in 4 person team format, and squad availability.
24. Prizes: if there are 1 to 10 entries there will be only one prize - the winner receives 100% of that division's prize fund. If there are 11 to 20 entries, there will be two prize payments made - first place receives 65% and second place receives 35% of the monies in that division's prize fund. If there are 21 to 30 entries, there will be three prize payments made - first place will receive 60%, second place 30% and third place 10% of the monies in that division's prize fund. NB: all bowlers will be asked to provide their bank account details at check in so that any prize payments can be distributed in a timely manner at the completion of the event. Cheques will not be sent out.
25. The Tournament Committee and ATBA will decide any matters which may arise and are not covered by the above rules.
